Alone Time...

I believe at times like this I actually have time to write on here. My online public journal. I think blogs are weird. It's like hello everyone, here are my thoughts and daily activities that I want the world to see. Like the Kardashians and those little people, how do they do it?

Well my life isn't as rich and entertaining like theirs. As mentioned I'm a stay-at-home mom with a kid who's two, married to a soldier man who is usually out and about. We've finally moved back to our home province yet we're still too damn far away from them and no one, besides the in-laws, has visited us yet. Pretty sad huh? Yeah, if you're reading this you suck. No visitors out east while we lived their as well, I didn't recommend it though, I'd rather you buy me a ticket to just come home but still. Anyway...yup. As I continue to say to myself, c'est la vie. I am 30 now and I am now at a point in my life where I just...sorry but fuck it. I need vacations and alone time and sanity. Speaking of which, the kid is awake, hello Wednesday. The husband comes home today.

Hi, I Might Be Back...

I said might.

It's early and I have no idea why I'm up. It's Saturday and I have no plans. What the hell am I doing?

I wrote a post before this and decided that that will not be shown to the world...this crap will.

What have I been doing in the past year and so? Staying at home with the kid, eating junk food, watching cartoons and being awesome. We moved back to Ontario. Yup. Finally. And...that's all the news for now.

Christmas is coming and I'm almost done shopping and have already started wrapping. Big win for me. Welp...I shall continue my nothingness, curl up into fetal position and drink my sludge coffee while I wait for the kid to wake.

Have a great weekend people.

Oops?

I'm not evening bothering to read my last post because all I remember is saying I'll continue with this post but I won't even remember what was going on because well, that's my life... C'est la vie!
Today is a cold Thursday so Dixon and I did not go anywhere, yeah we live a pretty exciting life here Oromocto. Tomorrow Dave comes home from the field so that's something to look forward to, this week we didn't do much. Yesterday we went to the library it was pretty boring. What do you do with a toddler at the library when he doesn't want to sit still to listen to a story? Still trying to figure out the fun things to do with a toddler besides running around in a circle or chasing him.
On another note Dixon and I are not participating for Halloween just handing out candy at the door if any kids come, not a lot of kids come around our neck of the woods. They will be leaving the day of to Ontario for work and won't be back until the 6th of November which is OK because we're used to it, he is out in the field right now and has been since Monday so yeah.
As of now we're just looking forward to Christmas and I've already started Christmas shopping and hoping that I'll be done before December. The only thing that we're looking forward to so nothing is going on here at the moment just cooking and cleaning and playing.

A Month and More

So terribly sorry for not writing like I promised and that was oh...two months ago? Bad bad me I know and trust me, I'd love to write more, I'd love to read more, I'd like to do a lot of things but truth be told I'm, A: forgetful B:lazy and C: just plain tired. Who knew running, chasing, cleaning, constantly saying no and just watching a child was this much work? And people want more than one of them? Man...that's just mind blowing lol.
Anywho here's a recap on life on the east coast, ooh yeah, we're all back together now, Us, The Macs, one big happy family, finally complete, with the odd exception of daddy Dave being to work for the nights, especially a week coming up. Um, that pretty much sums it.
Our little man turned one last month, I'll try to get a photo up of his party. He had an awesome bubble guppies themed party and I couldn't have ask for anything else, we've got great family and friends who helped out, thanks again!

Bare with me...blogging on a phone isn't my preference but it'll get the job done. Just not tonight...at 23:41. So...fingers crossed I write tomorrow. Here's a cute photo of Dixon. Sweet Dreams everyone!

Note: everytime I try to post a picture on my phone my post doesn't load so again please bare with this mess.

Hi and Hello to You!!!

So it's been literally a year and a few weeks since I've blogged. Worst blogger EVER! Yes, I know...sorry. Those who know me know that I had my handsome little man last year in September so let's just say that me writing this now means he's sleeping or playing with someone, right now he's sleeping so I have time to type this little blurb.

The reason I'm writing this is just to give you a slight update. Those who follow me on instagram know my photos are majority of food (#jesintoronto) and a few loves of my life, once I'm back on the east coast I'll be posting up homemade food (#jescooksforaday) and Taco Bell because in all honesty that's the place I only go to when we're out. Haha, OK maybe not but hopefully you'll enjoy the home cooking since they're mostly made by my husband and I.

If you prefer to check out daily updates on Dixon then just add me on snapchat, that's where it's at. All day everyday we be snapping.

As for facebook, that I continue to keep, please don't expect much from me there so I suggest the first two or you know...texting, phone calls or even snail mail are preferred.

Blahblahblah, rambling... so pretty much to wrap up I'll be blogging again soon once I'm back east just to update you all on my days since I won't be seeing majority of yous for a long while.

Wanted to end this off with a photo of Dixon but the blogger app on my phone is making this post not upload so next time!

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed!

First Saturday of August...

So Dave and I have been here for two weeks now, and when I say here I mean Toronto. Yup. Home sweet, lovely home. Within two weeks we drove 14 hours from our actual home to Dave's mom's as are usual first stop to Toronto to celebrate Dave's 30ish-th birthday, back to his mom who threw us a wonderful baby shower, and back to Toronto again for some city love. There are plenty of stories already within the two weeks but instead of going through the whole shabang I'll just write about this lovely Saturday in the city...

Dave and I sleeping in until 10, enjoying every bit of sleeping in until our bundle arrives next months (NEXT MONTH! Can you believe it?!) He hits the gym, I hit up the kitchen where my mother spends most of her time making breakfast on the weekends and dinner every night.

A text from a long time best buddy tells me he's in town with his lovely girl and siblings(/inlaws.) Dave and I get ready for the day and meet up in Kensington Market. Out and about in this lovely, sunny, hot day we meet in a sea of people and they're food crawling to Toronto's top food places. We wish them farewell after the meet thinking we'll see them later in the day when my brother messages me, movie time! But first, since we're in the neighbourhood, a good ol fashioned treat, beef patties from Patty King.

Scotiabank Theatre, I like to still think of as Paramount, we watch Guardians of the Galaxy. My review? Awesome movie, great music, love Zoe Saldana and honestly thought Chris Pratt's character was going to be overly cocky but surprisingly wasn't as bad as other Marvel characters.

Dave being his usual burger loving self was craving one so off we went to Burger Priest where he orders the High Priest, yup and fries. Can you guess what happens next? You guessed it, Dave gets a little tired so we hang out back home for a while and then finally, what I've been waiting all day for...

National Ice Cream Sandwich Day! We hope into Harrison and drive down to Ossington for some, what I thought was BangBang but was Bakerbots Bakery. Scarf down our delicious treats and head home again. Dinner time for the baby and I and really, why pay money when my mother is cooking adobo at home? Ending my night with this meal and Dave is out to party at the Tiki Bar with his buddies. Thus concludes our Saturday.

I'm not sure when I'll be posting again but I sure hope it's soon, so many adventures, so little time!

Ooh yeah, are you surprised Dave and I bought new shoes? Of course not. These bad boys are a MUST for pregnant, swollen feet. Honestly life savers. And Dave just wanted them because they are nice and super comfy. His and hers! I wonder if they have them in baby sizes... Anyways, ta for now! :)

Blackout of Summer 2014...

Thank you Hurricane Arthur, because of you more than 50,000 residents alone in NB lost their power for more than 48 hours. Dave and I lost our power for at least 72 and here is our adventure starting with our Saturday night dinner, (we lost power Friday night while sleeping but got it back in the afternoon and then lost it again until yesterday morning around 10:00am.)

Dave eating his steak and potatoes with a salad and he cooked me up some Chef Boyardee.

Waking up to Sunday morning feeling hopeful for power but then realized how many people lost power and the conditions of outside and here is our Sunday.

Dave, the BBQ king, making breakfast for me. (And yes, that's a drawing of Dave that I drew of him.)

Breakfast is served and the kitties are watching Dave clean up.

For lunch I decided to "invent" a new sandwich, peanut butter and bacon.

Our front yard, looks a lot crazier in person, debris everywhere, insanity.

Dinner time for Jes! Dairy Queen baby and of course a blizzard to end the night. (Dave had a chicken salad, no one wants to see that, lol.)

A few of the damages we seen while driving around after giving Harrison a quick wash. There's more of just branches on houses and cars, too many to post.

Every night we ended it like this...

Hello Monday, still no power and another BBQ breakfast and dinner. This time the power is back at certain areas in my town and Freddy so to kill some time and boredom we head there.

More eggs and bacon and a side of tons of hash brown and always topped with banana ketchup.

Selfie due to boredom and more peanut butter bacon sandwiches with a healthy apple.

Predinner at Regent Mall and to honour Fried Chicken day the day before got some Thai Express wings and had a sundae on Strawberry Sundae Day, yay!

Leftover rice with tosino for Jes and grilled chicken with hasbrown for Dave.

Finally Tuesday. I was honestly expecting our power to come back on Thursday but surprise surprise, Dave makes me breakfast and right before 10:00am, the wonderful sounds of beeps go off and hums start up, thus ending our blackout adventure. Charge up the phones and laptops and turn on the internet for Netflix but throughout the day I still left the lights off and tried to conserve energy. I also forgot to mention that we luckily had running water, unlike some of my friends who run on well water and couldn't flush their toilets or what have you, if we didn't have water I think I would've complained a teeny bit more. We survived and we enjoyed it. Anyway, until next time!

Last BBQ breakfast, Dave's been boiling and french pressing his coffee the whole time we had no power and yes, more bacon.

Our family portrait drawn by yours truly. (And no, they're not angry!)
