Blackout of Summer 2014...

Thank you Hurricane Arthur, because of you more than 50,000 residents alone in NB lost their power for more than 48 hours. Dave and I lost our power for at least 72 and here is our adventure starting with our Saturday night dinner, (we lost power Friday night while sleeping but got it back in the afternoon and then lost it again until yesterday morning around 10:00am.)

Dave eating his steak and potatoes with a salad and he cooked me up some Chef Boyardee.

Waking up to Sunday morning feeling hopeful for power but then realized how many people lost power and the conditions of outside and here is our Sunday.

Dave, the BBQ king, making breakfast for me. (And yes, that's a drawing of Dave that I drew of him.)

Breakfast is served and the kitties are watching Dave clean up.

For lunch I decided to "invent" a new sandwich, peanut butter and bacon.

Our front yard, looks a lot crazier in person, debris everywhere, insanity.

Dinner time for Jes! Dairy Queen baby and of course a blizzard to end the night. (Dave had a chicken salad, no one wants to see that, lol.)

A few of the damages we seen while driving around after giving Harrison a quick wash. There's more of just branches on houses and cars, too many to post.

Every night we ended it like this...

Hello Monday, still no power and another BBQ breakfast and dinner. This time the power is back at certain areas in my town and Freddy so to kill some time and boredom we head there.

More eggs and bacon and a side of tons of hash brown and always topped with banana ketchup.

Selfie due to boredom and more peanut butter bacon sandwiches with a healthy apple.

Predinner at Regent Mall and to honour Fried Chicken day the day before got some Thai Express wings and had a sundae on Strawberry Sundae Day, yay!

Leftover rice with tosino for Jes and grilled chicken with hasbrown for Dave.

Finally Tuesday. I was honestly expecting our power to come back on Thursday but surprise surprise, Dave makes me breakfast and right before 10:00am, the wonderful sounds of beeps go off and hums start up, thus ending our blackout adventure. Charge up the phones and laptops and turn on the internet for Netflix but throughout the day I still left the lights off and tried to conserve energy. I also forgot to mention that we luckily had running water, unlike some of my friends who run on well water and couldn't flush their toilets or what have you, if we didn't have water I think I would've complained a teeny bit more. We survived and we enjoyed it. Anyway, until next time!

Last BBQ breakfast, Dave's been boiling and french pressing his coffee the whole time we had no power and yes, more bacon.

Our family portrait drawn by yours truly. (And no, they're not angry!)

Filipinos Take Over Canada Day...

Happy Canada Day everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather here on the east coast, sorry Ontario, judging by the news there's suppose to be some clouds but the weather lady looks like she's in wonderful weather. Anyway, I just hope you're enjoying the day to celebrate this awesome country we call home.

Dave and I really had no plans for today but I needed to get out of the house. July has just started and the heat is already affecting my nose which includes the hot air outside and the cold dry air from air conditioned rooms giving me nosebleeds, yup I'm sharing that on here, the perks of pregnancy in my case. We start off with one of those and immediately I need out. Dave gives Harrison a bath (I haven't written about Harrison yet but I promise I will,) cuts and waters the grass and we're off, downtown Fredericton here we come!

All I really wanted to do was to head anywhere where I could get some donuts and eat them in a cool enough place outdoors where I didn't get attacked or feasted on by mosquitoes, here is the result of our day.

Filipino dances from Tahitian babies to Tinikling darlings, blew my mind!

My treats for the day, finally some fresh mini donuts and dairy-free Menchies!

Thus ending our Canada Day adventure of 2014. Now, I'm due for a nap. Happy day everyone! :)
